This desire to measure ourselves against the people around us can lead us to an elevated view of ourselves or a demeaning view of ourselves. We measure ourselves against others by:
- Status
- Influence
- Authority
- Relationships
- Education
- Religion
This practice can lead you to think “I am not enough” or to think “I am better than you.”
Matthew 20
This is the question I think Jesus is asking us today: As my followers, are you willing to embrace suffering to serve people?
