Paul is writing this letter not because of what he sees in the culture but because of what he sees in the church!
1 Corinthians 5:1-13
Sin must be mourned not celebrated.
You should be grieved by the things that grieve the heart of God. You should be grieved by what you’re seeing instead of proud of what you’re permitting.
Do not judge hypocritically, superficially, concerningly or unfittingly.
We are not perfect, we are not pretending to be perfect and we are not hiding sin for fear that we are going to be kicked out!
Scripture tells us to confess our sins to one another so that we might be healed.
