Submission is a relational asset for all people.
Submission is first and foremost to God.
- Biblically, our marriage is for the purpose of honoring the name of Jesus
- Secondly, marriage provides endless opportunities to grow by reflecting God’s love to others.
- Thirdly, marriage is the backbone of home committed to extending God’s mission in the world.
Submission is a choice.
Submission involves 2 things:
- Attitude
- Actions
Submission is unforced.
1 Peter 2:13-14
1 Peter 3:1-2
1 Peter 3:7
Simply put, marriage works best when husbands sacrificially serve their wives, and wives gently respect their husbands.
Love and submission is a Christ-like response.
