Sermon Notes

1 Corinthians 1:1-2

Gospel Pattern: Shame -> Grace -> Restoration -> Leadership

One of the first issues that Paul has to address is one of the most lethal: divisiveness

1 Corinthians 1:10-17

We are to speak and act in the name of Jesus alone.

There are going to be differences between us but there should not be divisions between us.

1 Corinthians 3:1-10

When we build our identity around leaders, seek power over peace, and confuse spiritual maturity with superiority, we damage our witness.

Prayer points

  • Ask God to reveal areas of our church that need to be mended so we can be more effective.
  • Pray that God would give us the “same mind,” not uniformity, but unity despite our differences.
  • Ask that God would grant us to have the “same conviction.”
How will you better enjoy, follow and share Jesus in light of what he has revealed to you today?
